20 Years | Tracking dashboard

This is the third blog in a series about E-mergo's 20th anniversary. Click here for all blogs in this series.
In an earlier blog we already announced that this year, to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are cycling to Aarhus. In this third blog, colleague Ben van der Helm talks about the GPS trackers that accompany both the group of cyclists and the other groups of colleagues, and the Power BI dashboard connected to them.

E-mergo turns 20 on 1 October, and to celebrate we are cycling to the TimeXtender headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. We are happy to give our customers and relations the opportunity to follow our bike ride to Aarhus. That is why our colleague Ben van der Helm, together with colleague Niek Guijt, has built a great dashboard in Power BI based on data from GPS trackers. In this dashboard you can follow the group of cyclists at any moment. The cyclists are also supported by an equipment van and a camper. Both are also equipped with a tracker, so they can be followed in the dashboard as well.
But not everyone is going to cycle to Aarhus. Besides the group of cyclists, there are also two groups who are driving by car to Hamburg and Legoland on the way to Aarhus. These two groups are also equipped with a GPS tracker. In total, that makes around 5 groups you can follow in the dashboard. This makes it easy to see where everyone is at any given moment. This is fun for customers and relations as well as for our colleagues.
In the video below, Ben explains exactly how the GPS trackers work and shows what the first version of the dashboard looks like:
