In one system it's entered correctly, while in another system an incorrect date has been entered. It's therefore important that the consistency of the data is checked. Data consistency thus goes hand in hand with data accuracy.

Timeliness

With data timeliness, think about how up to date the data is. You want to send letters to the customers in your customer database and need their current postal address for that. What you don't know for sure, though, is whether those addresses are still up to date. They may, for example, have moved in the meantime, meaning the data is no longer current.

The dimensions above are very common, but there are even more dimensions for measuring specific aspects of data quality. High data quality means data is fit for its intended use, while low data quality can lead to failures and inefficiencies.
