Chugoku Marine Paints is an innovative paint manufacturer founded in 1917 in Hiroshima, Japan. Since 1988, Chugoku has had a location in the Netherlands, which serves as the head office for Europe. From this location, the sales and service activities of the other locations in Europe are supported.
Chugoku gains sight of new sales opportunities by smartly combining data in Qlik Sense
In 2017, Chugoku Marine Paints started looking for a suitable Business Intelligence (BI) tool after noticing that the current situation was becoming unworkable. They now have a number of dashboards in Qlik Sense that they're very happy with. The dashboards are used daily and have become indispensable to Chugoku's day-to-day processes.
The Result
More insight gained
Chugoku has gained more insight into slow moving/dead stock. They can now see in time when paint is past its expiry date, allowing them to take action earlier.
Better stock management
Thanks to the dashboard that was built, Chugoku can now more easily see which stock is past its expiry date and which isn't. This makes it easier to come up with appropriate actions.
Data easily available
Chugoku can quickly find and view all data and, if needed, easily run analyses on it. The possibilities are unlimited.
“In the past, paint that was past its expiry date was always re-tested. Thanks to the insights from the stock dashboard, this is no longer necessary; we only re-test if a customer specifically asks for a product. If the product is past its expiry date and there's no more demand for it, it's kept for resale or disposal.”
