Qlik Sense gives us more grip on the queues
Earlier this year, Eindhoven Airport was looking for a way to make the transition from a quiet coronavirus season to a more than busy peak season as smooth as possible. "A good data tool turned out to be a handy way to keep the operation workable," says Frank van der Heijden, IT Business Analyst at the Eindhoven airport.
The result
Predicting crowds
With Qlik Sense, Eindhoven Airport tracks the traveler's route. Based on that, they can predict how busy security will be an hour from now.
Real-time overview
Eindhoven Airport sees, almost in real time, how busy it is, where everyone is in the airport, how many more people they can expect and which step of the process people are in.
Steering tool
The operations department now uses the predictions as a steering tool when calling people forward in the queue. Because they know how far people are in the process, they can call certain flight numbers forward earlier.
