"One of the reasons to look at an alternative data warehouse was the search for simplicity. We used to build calculations only in our reporting tool, because the data warehouse was so complicated. That's really not where they belong, because then you have to keep making the same adjustments over and over. If you build a level earlier, you can reuse the calculations. We periodically create a snapshot of the loan data. That's one of our most important steering instruments, so it's essential that the underlying logic is always and everywhere the same. There are no more errors in the foundation now, so we no longer need to spend time figuring them out," says Louis Derks, BI specialist at Qredits.
