Self-service analytics reveal insights at Qurrent

Qurrent is a 100% green energy producer and, since 2014, also an energy supplier. Stichting DOEN, the Klimaatbureau, and the Nature and Environment Federations initiated a new kind of energy company in 2011: We Generate. Qurrent emerged from this. Qurrent is a nationwide energy cooperative that helps you as much as possible with generating and saving energy. Profiting from your energy consumption doesn't fit that mission. Qurrent therefore does not aim for maximum profit for its shareholders. Qurrent's ideal is that everyone generates as much green energy as they consume. Since January 1, 2014, Qurrent has been allowed to call itself an energy supplier and also focuses on supplying green energy at cost price. This makes Qurrent the first energy company to offer energy at cost price. Qurrent now supplies green energy to more than 75,000 connections and the organization continues to grow.

Qurrent's case

The organization's growth led to an increasing need for a good analysis and reporting tool to prevent Excel sprawl and to be able to create analyses more quickly.

Governance & Security

With Qlik Sense, the business can visualize and analyze data itself in a governed and secure way, while IT safeguards data quality by creating 'master items' in advance. By setting up 'streams', each department has exactly the right data available to it. The result is that the business has gained more freedom when it comes to accessibility of company data.

Qlik at every level

End users are supported in their data needs, even with minimal knowledge of the system. As a result, Qlik Sense is used almost every day at both management and operational level within Qurrent. Thierry Gerards, BI Specialist at Qurrent: "Managers see an overview of the number of open customer service tickets, while at operational level the team leader sees which tickets need to be handled first and what topics they concern."

Beyond a snapshot

Previously, customer service used Excel to analyze incoming customer questions. This analysis was delivered once a week and used during the management team meeting. This was, of course, a time-consuming process and only provided a snapshot. Now, the turnaround time for customers and the number of open and closed tasks can be viewed at any time.
