Vopak's first question to E-mergo was about architecture: how does analytics software fit into Vopak's IT landscape? This was quickly followed by a request to develop a proof of concept (POC) for the first Qlik Sense dashboard. Vopak received it with enthusiasm, after which E-mergo could further expand it and bring it into production. “That first dashboard acted as a flywheel for everything that followed,” recalls Edwin van Pelt, Global IT Service Delivery Manager Data & Analytics at Vopak.

Having worked here for a number of years now, I've built up a lot of expertise, so I can help think through whether certain visualizations would make it easier for employees to take in the information. I build the dashboard myself, or one of the other Qlik consultants at Vopak does. I also give training sessions and have made a number of instructional videos, for example on how to create sheets or how to analyze data with Qlik Sense. These are also available in every production dashboard.”
