Schiphol Group

Schiphol Group owns and operates Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Lelystad Airport, and holds 51% of the shares in Eindhoven Airport. It also holds interests in airports abroad, including Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, Brisbane Airport in Australia, and Vienna International Airport. Schiphol Group chose a Business Intelligence solution built on QlikView, Platform Manager and a Qlik management package.

The Result

Company-wide

QlikView quickly became the leading tool. More and more people within Schiphol Group rely on QlikView, and the apps have gone from nice-to-have to must-have. That's why over 500 people are now authorized to use one or more of the roughly 40 QlikView apps.

Hybrid model

The hybrid model takes shape in the Qlik Enterprise Support Framework. Internal and external developers work closely together to develop, test and manage the QlikView environment, using Platform Manager from IN4BI. This is how E-mergo manages Schiphol's Qlik environment.

Incident management

Within the hybrid model, E-mergo is responsible for incident management of the QlikView environment. Improved testing and analysis have reduced the number of incidents, and release management capabilities help resolve incidents faster, for example by quickly rolling back to an earlier version. This keeps service continuity for the business guaranteed.

Schiphol Group professionalizes QlikView application development with Platform Manager

The continuous growth in the number of users, along with the workload of change and access requests and new development requests, started to overwhelm the department. Over 4,000 unique sessions are now started every month, ten times as many as two years ago. It was time for a professionalization drive, focused on optimizing application development and the life cycle of new and existing QlikView apps.

“Managing the life cycle of 40 QlikView apps, combined with a constant stream of development requests from the business, was overwhelming our department. This led to a hybrid collaboration model with our Qlik partner E-mergo.”
