KPI Workshop
Many dashboards contain too many figures, causing the most important insights to get lost. During the KPI Workshop, you determine together with stakeholders which KPIs are truly relevant to your goals. This way you lay a clear basis for a dashboard that gives insight and genuinely helps steer your organization.

Why the KPI Workshop
The KPI Workshop is an interactive session in which you work from your business goals toward the KPIs that truly matter. In doing so, we identify concrete business questions you want to answer with data. We work based on the Value Flow Analysis method, with which you recognize the right metrics and avoid the well-known pitfalls around KPIs. The result is a sharp scope for a Proof of Concept (PoC) or a new dashboard, carried by the people who will work with it.
You can repeat the workshop per process or department, until the KPI cascade (KPI tree) for your organization is complete enough. The starting point is that the main processes and stakeholders are involved, so they feel ownership of the KPIs. The workshop is valuable for anyone who wants to steer more by data, from process owners and managers to analysts. No technical prior knowledge is needed.
Our approach
We start by identifying the departments and/or processes we'll include in the workshop. During the session, we first map out which concrete business questions you want to answer with data. From the business goals and these questions, we then work toward a compact set of KPIs. We also discuss the right data visualization and record definitions, required data, and responsibilities.
During the workshop:
- We determine the goals of the department or process.
- We identify the concrete business questions we want to answer with data.
- We translate these goals and business questions into concrete KPIs.
- We discuss the right data visualization per KPI.
- We sketch a dashboard design to work out later.
Based on the outcomes, you can then start the process to technically realize the KPIs in a dashboard.
